Jose Revera Saenz

Jose Revera Saenz (Papa Joe), born on August 27, 1922 in Lytle, TX was called to be with the Lord on January 10, 2016 at the age of 93. He was a World War II U.S. Army Veteran. As a Combat Infantryman, he received The EAME Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, The Good Conduct Medal, The American Theatre Campaign Medal and The World War II Victory Medal. He is preceded in death by his wife, Graviela Saenz; parents, Daniel and Maggie Saenz; brother, Tanis Saenz; sisters, Maria Duncan and Estella Castro; sons-in-law, Andres F. Valdez, Eugene C. Casias and Harry L. Newton Jr. He is survived by his daughters, Simona Quintana, Florencia Newton, Estella Casias, Jesusita Saenz and Esther Saucedo; also, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2016 at Trevino Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Procession will depart from the funeral home on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 9:15 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Von Ormy,TX. Interment will follow in Lytle Community Cemetery, Lytle, TX.
