Jose Pulido Rodriguez born on April 3, 1923 in San Antonio TX was called to be with the Lord on August 6, 2014 at the age of 91. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for Kelly Air Force Base Civil Service for 33 years. Afterwards he devoted some of his retirement time by working at Mongomery Wards where he was known as “Smiling Joe”. He is preceded in death by his twin sons, Esteban and Ignacio; parents, Cleofas and Elvira Rodriguez; brother, Robert P. Rodriguez. He is survived by his wife, Guadalupe G. Rodriguez; children, Maria Esther Vargas (Joe), Teresa R. Chapa (Arturo), Joe G. Rodriguez, Michael Rodriguez and Robert G. Rodriguez (Guadalupe B.); grandchildren; Michelle, Melissa, Michael James, Melinda, Richard, Cynthia, Lisa Marie, Tina, Nicole and Jessica; 12 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Tillie Rodriguez. A Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday August 13, 2014 with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Procession will depart from the funeral home on Thursday August 14, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. for a 9:00a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at St. Timothy Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery No.2.The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude for the constant care and dedication given by the CIMA HOSPICE team.
