Jose Daniel Montes, Jr. passed away on January 9, 2018 after a short illness. Dan was a veteran serving 22 plus years in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel J. Montes, Sr. and Caroline Montes. Dan was a loving son, brother, and father. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary; his sons, Daniel and Matthew; three brothers, Thomas Emilio and Walter; two sisters, Kathy and Caroline, along with the children and grand-children of those brothers and sisters and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dan was very active in the Knights of Columbus.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, Feb 4th from 2-3 pm at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary will follow at 3:00 pm. Mass will be recited on Monday, Feb 5th at St. Patrick Catholic Church in San Antonio at 9:00 am. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
