Joe Mendez Solis, age 70, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022. Joe was born April 27, 1952 to Jose Solis and Alicia Mendez. He was married to Irene Solis for 43 loving years.
He enjoyed concerts, fishing, traveling, camping, fireworks, BBQ's, and holidays with family, especially the 4th of July and New Years Eve. He graduated from Fox Tech High school, class of 1970.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Solis, Alicia Mendez, nephews, Marcos Hernandez, Matthew Nieto.
He is survived by four siblings, Yolanda (Marcus) Hernandez, Elaine (Cleto) Martinez, Roger Solis, Alice (Anastacio) Villanueva, children, Melissa Solis, James Solis, Spouse, Irene Solis. Joe is survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, along with very good friends and neighbors, Mike and Gloria Hidalgo, Rebecca de los Santos and family, brother-in-laws, Juan Mauricio Zamarripa, and Jose Luis Zamarripa.
A special Thank you to Dr. Foster and the staff at Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital for excellent care over Joe Solis for the past 10 years.
A visitation for Joe will be held Thursday, September 1, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, 515 North Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205. A mass will occur Friday, September 2, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul Catholic church, 350 Sutton Dr., San Antonio, TX 78228.
