He was born on July 24, 1941 in San Antonio, and graduated from Edison H.S. He earned a B.S. in Biology from Trinity University and was commissioned as an officer in the US Army at the age of 20 and served 28 years active duty and reserves.
Jim worked for the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District for 36 years as a Registered Professional Sanitarian. Upon retirement, he was a consultant in food safety and public health investigations for incorporated cities in the area until just prior to his death.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Anne Marie, his daughters, Dr. Kristi Clark of San Antonio, and Traci Clark, of Dallas, and his granddaughter Calista Kelner of San Antonio.
Jim touched the lives of thousands of people and we are grateful to all who have reciprocated Jim’s love and support during his short illness, and more importantly, during his grand life. He rocked!!
Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 3 at 2:30 pm at Fort Sam Houston with reception to follow at Voigt Center, 700 El Portal, Hollywood Park.
