Jesus "Junior" Olague was born to his mother, Kayla Rodriguez, on September 13, 1988. Sadly, at the age of 33, God chose to end Jesus' battle with cancer and took him home on July 6, 2022. He was diagnosed with stage IV gastric cancer in December 2021. Jesus chose to fight this disease all the way through until the very end. He never gave up no matter how difficult and painful.
Jesus is the prime example of perseverance. Despite the hardships in his early life, Jesus' drive, determination and persistence to be nothing less than the best at everything he did showed even through his final moments. The inner strength he possessed was unique. He was a loyal man and held himself to a high standard of integrity.
Jesus was a hard working man who strived to be the best in his professional life. He exceled at work and had reached a high level of success and still had a very promising future with more growth. Jesus enjoyed learning, being challenged, mentoring and supporting his colleagues. He was a team player, and he naturally took the role of team captain by leading by example and encouraging and motivating others to work towards their goals.
In his personal life, he was a loving husband and father. He met his wife, Tammy, at age 16, and together, they grew and navigated life. As they grew, so did their family. They have three beautiful children together; Mia, Austin and Mateo. Jesus' favorite pastime was watching his kids play sports. Jesus and his wife loved soccer, so it was only natural for their children to play the game as well. Life consisted of traveling to soccer games and tournaments on the weekends. When he wasn't watching his children's games, he was watching soccer, football, basketball and boxing on TV with his sons by his side. Weekends off from soccer consisted of cookouts and watching sports with friends.
Jesus is survived by his wife, Tammy Olague, his daughter Mia Olague, and two sons Austin and Mateo Olague; mother, Kayla Rodriguez, two brothers Bryan and Brandon Resendiz, and two sisters, Enisa and Marixa Resendiz. He is loved by so many family members, friends, and colleagues who will truly miss his contagious energy.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, July 30th at The Hills Church, 2255 Horal St, San Antonio, TX 78227 at 2 pm for anyone who would like to come and pay their respects to Jesus and his family.
