James Edward Wrightsil (Jim) of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Wednesday July 10th, 2024 at the age of 73. He was born on August 2, 1950 in Big Spring, Texas where he grew up with his brother, Don, under Charles and Esta’s care.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Charles and Esta Wrightsil, and his sister-in-law Joyce Wrightsil.
He is survived by his loving wife Jennette, daughter JaDonna, Son Jamen, his Brother Don, nephew Zachary and niece-in-law Tiffany.
Jim served in the United States Air Force for 22 years. During that time he deployed to serve in Vietnam and supported Operation Desert Storm. He was an instructor to future Security personnel before he retired in January of 1992. Not one to stand still, he began working at River Center Mall as their Security Director. He continued his security career at Six Flags Fiesta Texas where he supervised personnel until December of 2023.
Jim loved the Dallas Cowboys, playing golf, and shooting pool. He enjoyed barbecuing and spending time with his family and friends. He never met a stranger and would welcome anyone to conversation. His compassion showed through in how he cared for his family and friends.
The family would like to thank the BAMC ICU staff for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in their final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home at the 1701 Austin HWY, San Antonio Tx location on August 6th, 2024 at 10am. Visitation with the family will begin at 9am.
