James M. Rountree, age 83, went to be with the Lord on July 29, 2015 in San Antonio, TX. He was born on January 6, 1932 to Raymond & Lucy Rountree of Greenfield, MO. He was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. James became a Barbershopper in 1956. He was an avid lover & restorer of GMC motorhomes, as well as a member of Colonial Hills United Methodist Church and owner of South Texas Bindery.
He was preceded in death by his son & daughter-in-law, Rick & Kathy Rountree and their son Clay.
James is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy Rountree; four children, Belinda Whitehead & husband, Mike, Julie Sims-Louden & husband, Brian, James Rountree & his wife, Jennifer, Jay Rountree; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
The Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 3, 2015 at Colonial Hills United Methodist Church, 5247 Vance Jackson, SAT 78230. A private interment will be at a later date at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to CHUMC’s Youth Ministry.
