James I. “Doc” Rone, Sr., age 88, went to be with the Lord & Savior on January 10, 2014. He was born on August 14, 1925 to Floyd & Myrtle Rone in Leesville, TX. He was an Army WW II veteran who proudly served his country. He retired after 43 years with Pearl Brewery. His actions, not words proved him to be a great man who was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be dearly missed.
Mr. Rone was preceded in death by his son, James I Rone, Jr.
He left behind his wife of 70 years, Dorris Rone; step-father, Elwood Albert; 4 daughters, Darlene Strickland & husband Gary; Melissa Caddell & husband Rev. Steve Caddell, Martha Kizer & husband Allin and Cami Burnam; 6 grandsons; 5 granddaughters; numerous great grandchildren, cousins, nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be 5-7p.m, Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 3 p.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
