Iva Ellen Wright was born October 5, 1932 at Millboro, South Dakota to Wager and Iva (Wood) Davis, and died October 4, 2020 at home in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 87 years, one day short of her 88th birthday.
Iva was united in marriage to William D. Wright on December 19, 1953 and to this union 3 children were born. She taught school for 2 years in a one-room schoolhouse before she married, and worked 30 years for the U.S. government in Civil Service.
Iva was a long-time bowler and participated in many national competitions. She was also a talented seamstress, quilter, and an avid supporter of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s school and extra-curricular activities.
She is survived by: daughter Toni and husband Nelson of San Antonio, TX; son Gregory and wife Katherine of Round Rock, TX; son Steven of Katy, TX; granddaughter Amanda Charles of San Antonio; grandsons Wager Wright of Portland, TX; Nicholas Charles and wife Katie of San Antonio, TX; and Tyler Wright of Round Rock , TX.
“GiGi” is also survived by her beloved great- grandchildren Luis Angel Trevino, Amirah Harper, twins Brianna and Mikayla Harper, and twins Ryenne and Robbie Thomas.
Iva’s survivors include: her brother George Davis and his wife Joan of Loveland, CO; sister Gaynel Gorman of Omaha, NE; brother-in-law Merle Lupton of Sioux Falls, SD; sister-in-law Lucille Fiske of Pasadena, CA; sister-in-law Lois Rice of Glenwood, Iowa; brother-in-law John Wright and his wife Dorothy of Chesterfield, MO; and 29 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers Albert and Wager, Jr.; sisters Lavona and Karon; and her grandson Luis Charles IV.
