Irene J. Sligh, age 75, passed away September 15, 2010in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on December 26, 1934 in Washington D.C. to Pierce and Ruby Hopkins. She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon G. Sligh and is survived by her sons, William G. Sligh and Mark A. Sligh; grandson, William Houy; brother Marvin Allen Hopkins and wife Charlotte. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road on Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 5:00 P.M to 9:00 P.M. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Friday, September 24, 2010 at Village Parkway Baptist Church, 3002 Village Parkway Drive, San Antonio, Texas, with Dr. Steve Branson officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
