Herminia Estrada born June 6, 1926 in Taylor, Texas was called to Heaven on January 17, 2019 at the age of 92. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John O. Estrada; brother, Santos Noriega and granddaughter, Deandra. She is survived by her daughters, Violanda Rodriguez, Norma Trevino (Richard), Marti Conner, Bonnie Reina (Randy); son, John Estrada (Debbie); with 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
From her birth to her death, she nourished people around her with love, faith and laughter. She grew up in San Antonio where she met and married her husband John Estrada. Together they raised five children.
Herminia was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was also the matriarch of Bethesda Christian Church. A woman of great faith and devotion, a prayer warrior, with her greatest love being her relationship with Jesus. She was beloved by family and friends, known lovingly as mom, Minnie, Mildred, and grandma. .
Minnie lived life to the fullest and shared her faith with all she came in contact with. She loved her church family and was the eldest member of the congregation at Bethesda Christian Church where she attended for over 45 years. She was a prayer-warrior and the love of her life truly was Jesus Christ.
She loved shopping for shoes, clothes, purses, household items like coffee mugs, plates, sheets, and even groceries. When she wasn’t at church or praying for someone, she was shopping.
She will dearly be missed.
A visitation will be held Monday, January 21, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, 78218 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. A Chapel service will be held at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
