Henry G. Galan a U.S. Army Veteran from WWII, born on January 9, 1926 went to be with our Lord on May 8, 2019 at the age of 93. He is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Elena Galan, Brothers; Ben, Joe, and Alfredo. Sisters; Janie Amezquita and Beatrice Galan, and niece, Michelle; nephew,John Galan. He is survived by his brother, Raul Galan and by nieces and nephews; Mary Helen "Lulu", Bonnie, Gloria, Debra, Roy, Marie, Rene, Belinda, Brenda, and Ryan. He was a supervisor at Kelly Air Force base for 17 years, 3 of those years he worked night be able to work days at his grocery store, Galan’s Food Market. Which was a family owned business, built by his brothers Raul, Ben, Freddy, and Father, Juan Galan. His family members; Maria Galan, Jaine Amezquita, Beatrice Galan, Ben Galan, Roy Galan Jr., Marie Galan, and Mary Helen Amezquita, all worked at the store. Henry was known for being the families’ rock and hero, he was the caretaker for all his family. He enjoyed spending his time with his family and friends, playing pool, and dancing. Henry was very thankful for spending his last days with his loving brother Raul. In his last months of his long journey, he was cared for by his brother, Raul’s family; Roy Jr., Gloria, Bonnie, Debra and his sister Jaine’s daughter, Mary Helen and husband, Mike. The family would also, like to give a special thank you, to all of Henry’s cousins in Mexico City, who always showed their love and gratitude for him. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. On Wednesday, May 15, 2019 the Mass of Resurrection will take place at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church with interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
