On March 15, 2025, we lost Greg Lange, 52, a man whose humor and warmth filled every room. Taken from us far too early, he leaves behind Gina and two beautiful children, Tess and Elliott, who will carry on his legacy of love, kindness, and humor. As his family, we are heartbroken and devastated, but we are also incredibly grateful for the joy he brought to all our lives.
Greg was born July 9, 1972, in Lubbock, Tx to Dennis and Jacque Lange. The family spent several years in Beeville before settling in Kerrville, where Greg attended and graduated from Center Point High School. Greg went on to attend UTSA in San Antonio, earning degrees in both Mathematics and Computer Science.
It was in San Antonio that Greg met and married his wife, Gina. They had two beautiful children together, Tess and Elliott. Greg was a devoted father who always put his kids first. Greg’s love for family was evident in his relationship not only with his wife and children, but also with his parents, siblings, in-laws, and extended family. He regularly made time for family gatherings, visiting his parents, and checked in regularly with loved ones. Outside of his role as a devoted family member, Greg had a passion for the world around him. His love for disc golf, his thirst for learning, and his deep dedication to writing his own book. He had been working on his book for years, writing in spurts, and he recently said it was halfway complete. How could he be so certain? Because Greg was meticulous in everything he did. He tracked his word count diligently, always ready to provide a running total, and could even show you graphs of the book’s progress.
In addition to his literary pursuits, Greg also loved board games. Greg routinely brought a new game for all of us to try and often showed up to family gatherings with a large blue Ikea bag full of games to play. Over the years, Greg created numerous games on his own, which he would patiently teach to family and friends so they could enjoy something new. He loved to play 88; he often tried to be sure his team won the 88 trophy at Lange family get togethers. He always made sure to capture a picture of the winning team at the end of the night. Greg truly had a passion for his hobbies, and he shared that passion with everyone lucky enough to know him.
Remaining to cherish Greg’s memory are his wife Gina Lange, of San Antonio; children, Tess Lange and Elliott Lange; parents Dennis and Jacque Lange; siblings, Kevin Lange and wife Betty; Clint Lange and wife Deanna; Sister Corrie Perryman; nieces Lailah and Parker; nephews Jackson and Hudson; as well as numerous cherished extended family members including uncles, aunts, and cousins, as well as beloved in-laws who all will miss Greg dearly. Greg also leaves behind many wonderful lifelong friends.
Preceding Greg in death are grandparents Jack and Florine Jones, and grandparents George and Geraldine Lange.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2102 North Loop 1604 East.
