George Herrera Valdez

George H. Valdez Sr. loving father and grandfather answered the call of Our Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. He was called to eternal life on June 6, 2014 at the age of 86 years in San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Consuelo Valdez, his son Richard Rene Valdez, his father Julio Valdez Sr. and mother Martha Jane Herrera Valdez. He is survived by his daughter, Rachel Valdez, son George C. Valdez Jr. (Virginia), son Ruben C. Valdez (Aurora) and daughter Teresa Cruz (Michael). He left heart felt memories for his three grandsons and six granddaughters. The lord blessed him with seven great-granddaughters. The oldest of fourteen children he is survived by sisters and brothers and numerous nieces and nephews. He was in the United States Army and retired from civil service from Kelly Air Force Base in the area of Aviation Electronics having received many awards. Thank you to his childhood friend, Richard Machado who remained his fishing and hunting buddy. The family would like to extend a blessing to the people in his life who continued to pray for him, made him smile and all who were present with him during his time of need. Jesus We Trust In You. The Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 7893 Grissom Road 78251. Holy Mass will celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Interment will take place at San Fernando Cemetery II.
