George W. Moreno

George joined his Heavenly Father at the age of 59; he fought a courageous battle with Liver Cancer and is now resting in peace. George was born in San Antonio, TX. on Nov 3rd, 1951, to Wilfred and Ofelia Moreno. George served in the US Navy from Jul 28, 1970 to Jul 27, 1976. George lived a very active life, as a young boy he played little league baseball with the Prospect Hills Yellow Jackets. He also had a love for racquetball, running, and cycling and participated in many SA Marathons and cycling races throughout his life. He is survived by his daughters Jennifer Moreno-Lopez, husband Daniel and Kathy Ann Moreno; grandchildren: Jacob and Jaclyn Lopez, James and Hope Moreno, and Perla Meza; stepmother Margie Moreno; sisters: Sandra Calderon, husband Albert, Maria Antonietta Moreno-Chalaby, Mirta Polendo husband Richard, Mirella Ince husband Omar; brother Carl Moreno; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Rd on Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 12:30 P.M. on Monday, November 7, 2011 at St. Anthony Mary Claret Catholic Church, 6080 Roft road with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Navy military honors.
