Frank Salas, a man of great faith, strength, kindness, devotion, and love, quietly passed away to the Lord on Palm Sunday March 28th at the age of 82, born to Jesus and Lucinda Salas on August 11, 1927 in Goliad TX.
He is survived by his lovely wife of 49 years, Carmen M. Salas, children, Alma (Marc) Moloney, Frank Salas Jr., and Patricia Cadena, grandchildren, Derek Lee Nixon, Nick Cadena, Sean Moloney, Lauren Moloney, and great grandchild, Tyler Nixon. He is also survived by sister's Eva Marie (Joe) Girard, and Mary Helen (Joe Albert) Garcia and numerous nephews and nieces.
Frank attended Central Catholic High School, and St. Mary’s University. Frank served his country proudly in the US Navy and during the Korean War in the US Army. He grew up working in the family business, Salas Food Market, and later opened Frank Salas Insurance Agency. He was a member of the Paricutin Social Club. We thank all the staff at Kindred Hospital, and Dr. Manju Poorvathoor, Dr. Arturo Homma, and RN Louis Sikes.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Sunday~April 4, 2010 with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday~April 5, 2010 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 600 Oblate, SATX 78216. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
