Francisco Martinez

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 67 years, Petra S. Martinez. Kiko and Petra met in Poth, Texas and married in Littlefield, Texas. He is also survived by his daughter, Heladia Wright (James); grandchildren, Magdalena Khann (Kathy) and Vincent Stock; Brother, Pedro Ramon Orosco (Josey); sisters-in-law, Teresa Lara, Lucy Hernandez (Mario) and Andrea Gregory, brother In Law, Ruperto Salinas (Roxanne) and his numerous nieces and nephews.

Francisco grew up in the Rio Grande Valley with his siblings and mother. The family moved to Poth, Texas where he met the love of his life, Petra. They worked side by side as migrant farm workers and traveled to several other states. After the birth of their daughter they settled in San Antonio, Texas.

He worked for the City of San Antonio and SAWS for 33 years and at Southwest ISD for 8 years. In his retirement, Francisco enjoyed remodeling projects. He made an appearance as an extra in "All the Pretty Horses" in the dance hall scene. He also loved travelling, gardening and especially spending time with his wife and family.

He always had a warm smile and willingness to help others. He loves joking around and telling funny stories. Heladia his daughter shared he was thankful for the care his family gave him and told them how much he loved them often.

The family would like to share a special thanks to his brother, Ramon and nephew, Claudio for their regular visits the past four years. To Embrace Hospice for their attentiveness and support and to family and friends for your everlasting Love & Support during this difficult time.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2024 from 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, 78211 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. On Monday, March 25, 2024 a Mass of Resurrection will be Celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph (So San) Catholic Church with interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II. A reception will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Church Hall from 12:00 PM until 2:30PM.

Serving as pallbearers are Vincent Stock, Michael Ray Lucas, Felipe Lara, Magdalena Khann, Kathy Khann and Irisa Barfield.
