Francisco J. Gonzalez

Francisco J. Gonzalez, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday June 26, 2012 at the age of 93. He was born in Laredo, Texas to parents Francisco and Leonor Gonzalez on September 25, 1918. Francisco honorably served his country in the United States Army from December 11, 1941 to October 9, 1945 and was stationed in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He fought bravely in the Battle of the Bulge and the D-Day invasions of Normandy. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Manuela, to whom he was married for 60 years, his daughter, Anna Maria, and four siblings. He is survived by his daughter, Graci and Robert Howard, his son, Frank Gonzalez and Lynne Bliss, and grandchildren, Robert Howard, Sarah Ramia, and Jonathan Howard, and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Funeraria del Angel Roy Akers on Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. A procession will depart the funeral home on Friday June 29, 2012 at 10:30am for an 11:00am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne’s Catholic Church at 210 St. Anne’s Street, 78201.
