Francisco Balderas passed away December 20,2021. He was born on July 02,1941 to Leonardo and Ella Balderas, growing up in San Antonio, Texas until joining the United States Navy and traveling the world. He served his country for 23 years as an SH Petty Officer First Class and was so proud of the experience he never missed an opportunity to show his loyalty by flying his American or Navy flag.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Marie Balderas, whom he shared a treasured 52 years of Marriage. He is also survived by his son, John Anthony Balderas, daughter, Lisa Marie Balderas (Joseph D. McGonagle), and Granddaughter, Cassandra Marie Balderas.
Upon retirement, he found a new hobby playing trumpet with the Alamo City Marching Band, participating in performances and parades. He also valued the time around his family and friends as he always stayed present is his loved one's lives. Some of his favorite mornings were - spent with the perfect cup of coffee while planning his day with his best little pal, Artie.
He will be remembered for the kindness, warmth, and joy he shared with us all and not to be forgotten the fun sense of humor and boisterous laugh. How lucky were we all to have shared life with you? You are someone we will never ever forget and someone we will continue to love forever.
The Visitation for will be held Monday, January 10, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237 followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Procession will depart from the funeral home at on Tuesday,January 11, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. for a 9:30 a.m. Mass of The Resurrection at St. John Berchmans' Catholic Church, 1147 Cupples Rd., San Antonio, TX 78226. Interment will follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, TX 78209.
