Florence Cantu

Florence Z. Cantu entered into the loving arms of our Lord on March 12, 2023. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on December 25, 1954 to Juanita Filoteo Zertuche and Juan Zertuche. She was the seventh out of nine children.

Florence was a loving and caring soul. She took care of many children and adults in the family. She was a natural care giver. She was a motherly figure to anyone in need. In her free time she loved to make flower arrangements and enjoyed baking and decorating cakes.

In 1973, Florence met her future husband Alcario Cantu. She would help out in her brother’s establishment, helping serve parties that rented the hall in the bar. Their relationship grew and they got married on April 11, 1975, together they raised one son.

She is preceded in death by her parents Juan and Juanita Zertuche; her siblings, Joe Loredo, Jesse Loredo, Mary Garza, Juan Zertuche Jr., and Minerva Martinez.

Her memory will forever live in her loving husband, Alcario Cantu; her wonderful son, Jacob Cantu, god-children, Joseph Ryan Rodriguez, Matthew Rodriguez, Samuel Rodriguez, Selena Rodriguez, Jase Rodriguez, Selina Jane Sanchez. Her siblings; Jimmy Zertuche, Richard Zertuche, and Guadalupe Garcia; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
