Fidel Ramirez

Fidel O. “Friday” Ramirez, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather entered into eternal rest on November 6, 2011 at the age of 93. Fidel honorably served in the United States Army and went on to retire from Civil Service at Randolph AFB. He loved everything about baseball; he enjoyed playing, coaching amateur teams, and managing. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Grace G. Ramirez; children, Alice Menchaca and Robert G. Ramirez and wife Patricia L.; grandchildren, Denice, Arnold and wife Monica , Robby, Matthew, Catherine, and Michael; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Ricardo and Analisa ; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. The family request that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to Odyssey Hospice, 4440 South Piedras Dr # 125, San Antonio, TX. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, November 14, 2011 at Sunset North Funeral Home and a Rosary will be recited that same evening at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1602 Thousand Oaks; interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
