Evelyn Joyce (Woods) Matthews, born in San Antonio July 15, 1927, passed away November 9, at the age of 97. She was preceded in death by her parents Elva and Lucy Woods, her brother Eugene Woods, her sister Dorothy Rose, and half-sister Virginia Highland and their spouses. She was also preceded by nephews Charles Woods and James Rose and James’ wife Pam. She is survived by niece Linda Bradley and nephew Royce Rose and wife Patti, as well as numerous grandnieces and nephews and great grandnieces and nephews as well as many extended family members and friends. Visitation, followed by graveside service, November 22, led by grandnephew Panya Sayavongsa at Sunset Memorial Park. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Evelyn was a great woman who loved and cared for her family, friends, and country. She will be greatly missed.
