Ernest Saldana was call home to be with his maker at 3:53am on Sunday, October 27, 2013. He was born on March 5, 1930 in Three Rivers, TX. Ernest was a master tile setter who worked for many contractors in and around San Antonio. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved taking his boat out for deep water fishing. Ernest served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956. He leaves his sons, Ernest and wife Yvonne and John and wife Virginia and their children; brothers, George and Lillie Saldana, Matthew and wife Hope, Moses and wife Dora, Luis and wife Olga, Daniel and wife Lupe and David Saldana; sisters Ellen Gutierrez and Susan and David Clawson; numerous nieces and nephews. We would like to thank Premier Hospice along with caregivers Lori and Johnny Gonzalez, “Betty Boop” and Jose Torres who were his final caretakers at Oak Knoll Personal Care Home. A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at 10:45am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with US Army military honors.
