Emma Ruth Romero

Emma was a 1941 graduate of Lanier High School. In 1950 she married Lanier football hero David Silvas Romero, who preceded her in death in 1971. Emma enjoyed living in the numerous national and international locales that her husband’s Air Force service took them before they returned to San Antonio.

Emma was generous in her devotion to friends and family, especially delighting in her great (and great great) nieces and nephews. She enjoyed her beloved Dallas Cowboys, watching classic movies, and listening to Mexican music and Barbra Streisand, and was a longtime member of the San Antonio Conservation Society.

Emma is immediately survived by her son David and his wife Francine, and siblings Frances and Nicholas.

Visitation will be 6 p.m., Sunday, June 25, 2017 with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Service will be 10 a.m., Monday, June 26, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
