Sister Emilia Ann Pastrano, MCDP

Sister Emilia Ann Pastrano, MCDP, born in Lockhart, TX on January 27, 1929 entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 18, 2014 at the age of 85. She is preceded in death by parents Emilio Pastrano, Felisa Mojica, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Her surviving family members are her three sisters, Sister Victoria Pastrano, MCDP, James and Cathy Wrenn, Leon and Carmen Newberry; brother, Phillip Pastrano and numerous nieces and nephews. Juanita, known as Sister Emilia Ann, entered the convent on July 5, 1948 and professed her vows on February 7, 1952. As a dedicated Catechist, she served in twelve parishes throughout Texas, one parish in Las Cruces, NM, and also held various diocesan positions throughout her forty-eight years of service. Although she officially retired in 2000, she continued to minister to Sister Victoria who is in McCullough Hall at Our Lady of the Lake. Sister Emilia Ann will be greatly missed by her two families, the Pastrano Family and the Missionary Catechists of Divine Providence.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Conventual Chapel at St. Andrew’s Convent, 2318 Castroville Rd. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, August 22 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Convent. Interment to follow in San Fernando Cemetery #2 on Castroville Rd. Arrangements under the direction of Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, San Antonio, TX.
