Elidia C. Solis, born August 1, 1926 in Fentress, Texas to Francisco Willars Cadena and Mary Constancio Cadena completed her journey on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the age of 91 years. Mrs. Solis was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Mary Cadena; and brother, Jesse Cadena. She is survived by her sister, Mary Ann Olsen; children, Hortence Hidalgo, Melba Solis Faz , Maricella Garcia (Michael), David Rene Solis (Elvira) and Francisco Solis (Gerry); grandchildren; Patrick Hidalgo (Diana), Laura Hidalgo, William Adam Torres (Roxanne), Nicolas Torres, Desiree Farias (Paul), Joel Solis, Megan Solis, and Alejandro Solis; great-grandchildren, Maya Hidalgo, Arianna Hidalgo, Tristan Hidalgo, Jacob Hernandez, Robert Hernandez, Jissela Escamilla, Ava Escamilla, Zachary Herrera, Elena Torres, and Nicolas Torres; also numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and a host of friends. Lilly as she was fondly called was a devoted Mother and Grandmother making a house a home for her family. She was an excellent cook and opened her home to family and friends during the holidays. She had a flair for decorating and decorated her home for every occasion. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, collecting depression glassware, traveling, and gambling trips. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A Special Thank you to Irene Brionez Care Provider for many years, Todd, Sam, and Angela of Alamo Hospice, as well Sarah, Matthew, Chris and Staff at Meridian Care of Monte Vista for their care and attention to our Mother. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 with a Mass of Resurrection at St. Luke Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Everyone is asked to meet at Church.
