Dorothy Marie Schubert

1925 - 2020

Dorothy entered rest on October 4, 2020 at the age of 94 in San Antonio, Texas following almost two months of hospital and skilled nursing stays. She was born in Flatonia, Texas on December 24, 1925.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Charlotte Osborn (granddaughter Dawn and husband Tony Judson, great-granddaughter Ayla); her son William and wife Susan (grandson William, great-granddaughter Violet, great-grandson Cypress; grandson Darren; and granddaughter Kristin and husband Chad Sellers, great-grandson Kyle, great-granddaughters Natalie and Amanda); and her sister Fern Profiri and her brother David Johnson.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Reno; her parents, James Louis and Iola Mae Johnson; her brothers Woodrow, Glyn, Cooper, and John Johnson, and her sisters Laura Homuth Zouzalik, Irene Wenske, Gertrude Branecky, Winnie Bohnstedt, and Una Dell Johnson; her son-in-law Donald Osborn; and her great-grandson Derek Judson.

Dorothy was a friend to all she met and greatly loved by family and friends. After raising her kids she worked as a payroll manager at Montgomery Wards for over seventeen years. She loved outdoor activities, especially deer hunting, and fit well in the recreational vehicle lifestyle after retirement. She was an avid San Antonio Spurs fan and loved complaining about the “bad calls” against the Spurs.

A Celebration of Life Service will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Saturday, December 26, 2020 from 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
