Diana Gayle Leyva

Diana Gayle Leyva of San Antonio, Texas passed away peacefully on May 30, 2016, surrounded by her family and those she loved. Diana was born on November 3, 1957 in San Antonio, TX to Benjamin and Barbara Ross. She was a loving mother, grandmother, companion and friend whose infectious smile and caring heart will be missed dearly.

A 1976 graduate of Douglas Mac Arthur High School, she was a lifelong supporter of the Brahmas and attended football games religiously. In true native-Texan style, Diana lived for the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs and enjoyed attending and watching sporting events. Diana loved music, dancing, shopping and The mother of two U.S. Army Veterans, she was an avid supporter of the military.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Barbara and Benjamin Ross, two brothers, Jeffrey Ross and Benjamin Ross, Jr., and a sister, Deborah Shirey.

Diana is survived by the love of her life, Curtis Alexander; three children, First Sergeant Kevin Ross and his wife Nicole, Captain Kym Leyva and her fiancé Erich Johnson, and Kelly Torres and her husband Fernando; seven grandchildren, Julian, Moses, Ariel, Isaac, Florina, Raylon and Cole; her siblings, Steve Ross and his wife Mary, Barry Ross, Karen Hill and her husband Staley, Laura Gleason and Sandra Tadlock; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; her best friend of over forty years, Susan Abrego; and her family at National Car Rental, where she worked for over twenty years.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 2, 2016, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at Sunset Funeral Home on Austin Highway. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 3, 2016, at 2:00 p.m at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Internment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, located at 17501 Nacogdoches Road, San Antonio, TX 78266.
