Diana Dale Bruchmiller went to be with Christ our Lord, on Friday, April 19, 2024 at the age of 92. Diana was born in San Antonio on November 16,1931 to Talley Miles Dale and Mary Louise Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Mark Stephen Bruchmiller.
As a lifelong resident of San Antonio, Diana attended Thomas Jefferson High School where she met the love of her life, Charles L. Bruchmiller. They were married on June 4, 1953. After graduating from high school, Diana attended Trinity University and graduated in 1952 with a Bachelor of Education degree.
As newlyweds in Houston, Diana worked as a second grade teacher while Charlie completed dental school. After a two year stay in Fort Hood, they got back to their roots and returned to San Antonio in 1959 where they raised five boys.
Diana was committed to her faith, and as a lifelong member of Trinity Baptist Church she volunteered and taught Sunday school. Diana had a strong commitment to the dental community and was a member of the San Antonio Dental Auxiliary/Alliance for over 64 years where she served as president in 1969 and 1996. If Diana wasn’t at El Jarro with her family and best friends, whom she and Charlie have known since middle school, she could be found playing bridge at Oak Hills Country Club. Christmas was Diana’s favorite time of year and she delighted in making it special and memorable for her children and grandchildren. As a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Diana was loved by all.
Diana is survived by her husband, Charlie; her sons, Brad (Denise), Boyd (Lu), Tod (Laura), and Tim (Susan). Her grandchildren: Kyle (Allison), James Connor, Kate (Richard) Benitez; Zach (Valerie); Erin, Emily; Travis (Courtney) Fleetwood, Stewart (Jennifer) Fleetwood, Katie (Austin) Kreitz, and Mary Elizabeth; as well as eleven great-grandchildren.
