David H. Martinez

David was a man that enjoyed watching sports and being active in the great outdoors. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and the Spurs, and went to the gym often. He gardened and tended to his yard and also was a cyclist. When he wasn't doing outdoor activities, he participated in Bible Study groups with fellow worshippers. David was a very caring and loving man especially with his family.

He is preceded in death by his sons, Danny Martinez and Homero Silva Jr.; his daughter, Guadalupe Silva and great-great-grandson, Julian U. Gomez.

David is survived by his loving wife, Esperanza Martinez, daughters Margie Marquez (Abraham), Sylvia Munoz (Randal), and Mary Jane Soria (Robert). Pete Silva, JoAnn Ponce, Monica Farr (Jerimiah), and Amanda Silva. The loving, surviving grandchildren are Sonny Zuniga, Homero Zuniga, Justin Gomez, Xavier Soto (Zandra), Priscilla Rodriguez, Johnny Rodriguez, Gwendolyn Garcia (Jerry), Julie Ann Ponce, Desiree Ponce, Lisa Maria Silva, John Farr, Elijah Farr, and Markus Anthony Ponce. David's great grandchildren are, Jerry Lukas Garcia, Gerrlyn Garcia, Destinee Ponce, Andrea Soto, Zane Anthony Ponce, Leia Ponce, Athena Ann Miller as well as numerous immediate family and friends. David will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023 beginning at 5:00 pm with a Prayer Service held at 6:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. On Tuesday, July 25, 2023 our doors will open at 8:30 am with a Chapel Service at 10:00 am followed by burial at San Fernando Cemetery III, 1735 Cupples Rd., San Antonio, TX 78226.
