David was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 12, 1952. He was the dutiful second son of the late Elizabeth Dyck (née Beck) and Roy Dyck. He went on to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne for chemical engineering and continued his education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to receive his master’s degree in business management. He then proceeded to enjoy a successful career in business management for the petrochemical companies, Arco and Valero.
David was married to Myoung Hee Dyck on December 31, 1991; they were happily married 28 years. They raised their one son, Alexander Dyck.
In his free time, David enjoyed collecting and drinking wine, beating his son in chess and tennis, and traveling with his wife. He was also actively involved in the Meals on Wheels organization and the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration.
David is survived by, his wife Myoung Hee Dyck, his brother Andrew Dyck, his sister Laura Dyck, his son Alexander Dyck, and other family and friends.
The funeral service will begin at noon on December 7, 2019 at Sunset North Funeral Home. Pastor John Meyer will be officiating. Visitation will be held on the same day prior to the service at 11am. Funeral and cremation arrangements are being handled by the Sunset North Funeral Home.
