Daniel Charles Maurer was born in Toulon, France, on September 14, 1942 and died August 27, 2011 of a lingering illness. He was employed by Commercial Kitchen for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Powhatan Henry and Catherine Maurer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Renee; granddaughter, Mizelle Ribu; brother, Robert Maurer and wife Suzanne; sister, Michele Maurer; sister-in-law, Jeannine Petersen and husband Bob; brothers-in-law, Ed Simon and wife Sheila and Fred Simon and wife Lois. He was a beloved uncle to numerous nieces and nephews and a treasured friend to many. Baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at the age of 11, Dan’s life centered on his devotion to Jehovah. As an elder in the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, he cherished a variety of privileges of service to his spiritual family, always holding a special place in his heart for the youth in the congregation. Dan’s humility, humor, and warm heart endeared him to his many friends. His sterling example of faithfulness will continue to encourage everyone.
