surrounded by her family on Monday, May 6, 2024.
Cristin was born to Thomas Jarreau Hardin and Betsy Boyer Hardin on June 8, 1971 in Alexandria, Louisiana. She graduated from Alexandria Senior High School in 1989 and received a Bachelor of Science Degree (Education) from Baylor University in 1993. She married James Todd Foreman in 2006. They lived in San Antonio where they joyfully welcomed two children, Cole Hardin Foreman, 16 and Camille Elizabeth Foreman, 13.
She is survived by her loving husband, James and their devoted children Cole and Camille. Also left to cherish her memory are her parents Betsy and Tom Hardin; her sisters Melissa Hardin Deichert (Bucky), Beverly Hardin Deichert (Kurt), and Julia Hardin Snyder (MIckey); her nephews Fritz Thomas Deichert, Jack Boedeker Deichert, and Lawrence Michael Deichert; and her nieces Melinda Hardin Wilkinson (Rob) and Hannah Camille Deichert.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Allen Jarreau (Toby) Hardin.
Cristin was a dedicated educator teaching elementary students. She tirelessly worked for North East Independent School District at Regency Place where she taught third grade and Woodstone Elementary teaching third, fifth and second grades. During her 30 year tenure at NEISD Cristin impacted hundreds of children’s lives encouraging them to persevere, heighten their academic achievement, and challenging them to be their best selves. She was adored by her co-workers as well as her students and their families.
Family was Cristin’s top priority. She fiercely loved her parents, grandparents and siblings and doted on her nieces and nephews. At an age when most people begin to travel with friends, Cristin preferred to travel and spend time with her parents, particularly spending time in her happy place, Highlands, North Carolina, where she enjoyed hiking, reading and napping on the deck. When she had her own children, she nurtured that love of family and nature in them. She was an avid reader of the newspaper, reading the San Antonio Express News daily as well as her hometown family newspaper, the Alexandria Daily Town Talk.
As a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, Cristin has worshiped at Alamo Heights United Methodist Church for over 20 years. She tirelessly volunteered her time to teach children’s Sunday school and Vacation Bible School.
The family would like to thank Dr. Arnold Vardiman, Dr, Lisa Fichtel, Dr. Keith Eyre, Dr. Ildiko Agoston, Dr. Christopher Bogaev and Dr. Ashvini Reddy along with their nurses and staff for the excellent care they provided Cristin. Also a special thanks to her school community and friends for the love and support they have provided.
A celebration of Cristin’s life will be held Wednesday, May 15 at 3:00pm at Alamo Heights United Methodist Church located at 825 E Basse Road, San Antonio, Texas 78209.
