Chrissy was the daughter of Edwin and Ruthabel Posey and a proud graduate of John Marshall High School, Class of 1969. She attended San Antonio College and UT Health Science Center Dental Hygiene program, and she furthered her education with a master’s degree from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. She enjoyed tap dancing and playing piano. She collected antiques, loved everything Wizard of Oz, and her favorite San Antonio restaurant was Jacala’s. As a dental hygienist, Chris was known for her strong work ethic and reliability. She played tennis into her seventies. In retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and faithful dog, Jax.
She is survived by her son, Ryan Schwope and his wife Ora; grandchildren, Sammy and Benjamin Schwope; siblings Sandy Aston, Carol Fawcett, Trey Posey.
A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park on Austin Highway, December 21, 2024 at 3:00 pm. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held after the graveside service from 4:00 pm- 6:00 pm at El Catrin Restaurant & Bar, 21 Brees Blvd, 78209.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
