The world became brighter when Caden Lane Dunn was born on October 15, 2014. Caden’s quiet and gentle spirit warmed the hearts of everyone who loved him. His greeting of hugs and kisses were cherished each day, and the time spent rocking in his favorite chair cuddling close to those he loved so dearly brought quiet and peace each night.
Caden’s love for his mommy and daddy was infinite, and his smile and laughter radiated when they walked into a room. Caden and his mommy were cuddling buddies and could spend hours nuzzled under a blanket with Rylee and puppy Levi. He loved to help his daddy in the yard and snuggle while watching shows about puppies. His bond with his parents is built upon faith, and their love is endless.
Caden’s love for his big sister Rylee knew no limits. He loved to play outside with her, and the laughter and joy they shared playing basketball, jumping on the trampoline, blowing bubbles, and playing chase could be heard down the street. The time they shared at the lake in Iowa running in the yard, feeding the ducks, playing at the park, watching parades, and swimming were some of their favorite memories that will be cherished forever.
True to his family roots, Caden loved to watch football and basketball and cheer on his favorite teams. He loved to learn and have books read to him while he continued on his latest little boy adventures. Caden enjoyed the little things in life. He loved to search for school busses on his daily drives with grandma and grandpa and would point out busses along the route and exclaim with his sweet voice that they are yellow, his favorite color. He loved being surrounded by family and made the rounds at every gathering to get his share of kisses, hugs, and bouncy time on knees.
Caden earned his angel wings on December 20, 2016 and is watching over us and holding the hand of Jesus, pointing at all of the wonders of Heaven asking, “What’s that?” Caden touched the lives of many in his short time with us, and he has taught us countless lessons of faith, joy, and love. He reminds us that each day is to be celebrated and cherished.
Caden is survived by his loving parents, Chris and Gwen Dunn; sister Rylee Dunn; grandparents Scott and Cathy Hanson; grandparents John Harper and Margie Ogle; grandmother Debra Dunn and great grandmother Gaynell Cude; uncle and aunt Scott and Erin Sherman; uncle and aunt Jim and Susan Shewmaker; aunt Emory Dunn; and many more family members who love him deeply.
Services will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home in San Antonio, Texas on December 30, 2016 with visitation is at 9:00 am and the service at 11:00 am. A time for fellowship will follow at the Leon Valley Conference Center following the service.
