Audelia Mata

She is survived by daughter Ana-Christina Gibbons, and her husband Garrett , daughter Teresa Moreno and her fiancé Donny Hudlow. Grandchildren Alexis Moreno, Crystal Gibbons, and Amber Gibbons. Her sisters Zoila, Sulema and Janey and her brother Orlando.

Audelia graduated from the University of Clear Lake with a degree in Education. She dedicated 20 years of her life to her love of teaching. She believed that all students, when properly prepared and motivated, could succeed academically. Because of her, her student’s had a brighter future.

Audelia was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She was at her happiest when she was surrounded with her family and friends. Every day was Christmas to her, and as a reminder, she always kept a Santa Claus or a small Christmas tree to greet you in her home. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her love of music, and her kindness.

Visitation will be 6 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
