Annie Ruth Galloway

Annie Ruth Flowers was born on January 4, 1945, as the second child and first daughter to George B. and Essie Lee (Frazier) Flowers. She fell asleep in death on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at the age of 79. Annie was preceded in death by both parents - George in 1962, and Essie in 1994; all three brothers - Patrick in 1990, Robert in 2018, and Jerome in 2020. She leaves to mourn her passing four sisters - Joyce Dorsey, Enterprise, Alabama; Patricia McMullen, Cincinnati, Ohio; Deborah Flow-ers, Cincinnati, Ohio; Gail Ann Minor, and brother-in-law, Leroy Minor, Atlanta, Georgia. Three sisters-in-Law, Bettye Flowers, San Diego, California; Sandra Flowers, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Audrey Thompson, Cincinnati, Ohio, as well as 8 nephews and 9 nieces, many great and great great nephews and nieces. Annie had lifelong friends, students, along with a host of spiritual brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, grandsons, and granddaughters whom she loved dearly. Annie graduated from Lincoln Heights High School, Village of Lincoln Heights, Ohio and Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She taught school for over 30 years, but her greatest joy was teaching others about the Bible. Annie was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on April 27, 1985. She became a regular pioneer in 1990 and served in her assignment for 30 years. She was serving as a regular pioneer at the time of her passing away. With her dictionary and Bibles in hand, she helped many come to an accurate knowledge of Jehovah and his purpose for mankind. Annie was an avid bowler and participated in many tournaments in Ohio. After moving to Texas, her leisure time included card parties, listening to Jazz and playing bid whist or spades. One thing everyone would agree about Annie: you couldn't talk to her without getting some "sugar" - a hug and a kiss. We will have to "wait a little while longer" (Ps 37:10, 11) to get more of Annie's sugar. Annie had a powerful voice and loved singing praises to Jehovah. If anyone lost their place, they could listen to Annie and fall in sync. As an educator, Annie helped many in the congregation, as well as those still in school, to improve their grammar and reading skills.

Annie's favorite scripture was

Revelation 21:3-5

With that 1 heard a loud voice from the throne say: "Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." And the One seated on the throne said: "Look! 1 am making all things new." Also he says: "Write, for these words are faithful and true."
