Ann Atwell died on July 24, 2012. She graduated from Alamo Heights High School, received a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Texas, and a Master’s of Social Work from the University of Illinois. Her social work was with the Girl Scouts, various community centers including, Madonna Center in San Antonio, and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in San Atonio. She also did volunteer work in Mexico and Paraguay with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). After retirement in 1990 she enjoyed volunteer work and travelling as well as being a member of Alamo Heights Christian Church. Survivors are Elizabeth Bonnet Brinsmade of Wimberley, Harriet Bonnet McGonigle of Houston, Jody Eglinton of New York, and Bill Bonnet of Maui, Hawaii. Per her wish, Ann will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at Alamo Heights Christian Church, 6435 N. New Braunfels, 78209, on August 11, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to San Antonio Catholic Worker House, 622 Nolan San Antonio, TX 78202, Alamo Heights Christian Church, or the charity of your choice.
