Aeja Jamille Shipley, 19, passed away much too soon on September 27, 2015. She was born in Vernon, Connecticut on June 8, 1996 to Harold and Holly Shipley. Aeja grew up in Connecticut and moved to San Antonio with her family two years ago. She graduated in 2014 from Earl Warren High School, San Antonio and planned to pursue a career as a nurse in the military.
Aeja’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of life far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. She was a good friend to many and her smile and laughter was contagious. She enjoyed art and spending time with her dog Penny and her bunny Bella.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her Brothers, Kaseem Shipley, Kaymel Shipley, Harold Jayden Shipley, Jordan Cyr of Manchester, CT and Shekeem Shipley of Hartford, CT; Sisters, Jelisa Shipley of Waterbury, CT, Isis St Martin of Manchester, CT and Sasha Lowe of Poughkeepsie, NY; Grandparents, Deborah Trinks of East Hartford, CT and Linda Shipley of Waterbury, CT; Aunts, Linda Shipley of Queens, NY and Monique Shipley of Waterbury, CT; Uncle, Hakeem Shipley of Killeen, Texas; Godparents, Scott and Creshunda Bass of Miami, FL, as well as many dear friends.
Services will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 2:00pm at Sunset Northwest, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238. Donations may be made in her name to the San Antonio Food Bank (www.safoodbank.org or San Antonio Food Bank, 5200 West Old US Highway 90, San Antonio, TX 78227) in lieu of flowers.
