The best kind of birthday party with the best kind of people to enjoy it with. I’m happy to have shared moments like these with you, I love you Abel.

We took way too many pics right here lol, but I’d do it all over again and not change a single thing, I miss you Abel.

Thanksgiving at the ALC with a school family I will cherish forever. We miss you Abel, rest easy my brother.

I get online and read about Abel's passing. I am in complete shock. Abel was always really nice to me. I met him when I started a job at a local gas station. We became good friends and I cherished the friendship we established. I pray that he finds peace. Thanks for being such a great friend to me over the years. -stephy.

I am an academic advisor at Texas A&M-San Antonio and I first met Abel last year when the Math Department asked us to sit in for faculty interviews to hire a new math instructor. Abel impressed me the moment I sat down with his questions to the potential candidates. I would later greet him on a regular basis because he tutored students nearby my office door. I remember him impressing me as he tutored Math in Spanish. I recall asking him if he thought of being a bilingual teacher and he had other aspirations, but I told him to think about it. I watched him stay late in the tutoring center cleaning the whiteboards when no one asked him to do so. He loved what he did & he did it so well. He will be dearly missed.

There are no words to express the amount of sadness that losing my brother Abel has brought to my life. I know I speak for all the brothers of Omega Delta Phi we are beside ourselves with grief.

To the family we send our deepest condolences and prayers for the young man who made us all smile. We all admired his intelligence, willingness to help and piercing big brown eyes.

Be at peace my brother! May the Lord keep you and heal the hearts of all the family who knew and loved Abel.

Abel was an amazing artist, and  a big sweetheart. He was one of those guys that just lit up the room when he entered. He was never afraid to be 100% himself. Despite whatever he was going through that day, he always greeted people with this big goofy smile on his face. I worked with him in the ALC at TAMUSA for just about 2 years and his personality and patience never ceased to amaze me. He was an excellent math tutor. He was so patient and understanding with his students and I never once saw him get angry or frustrated with any of his students. He was just a positive vibe that we all needed in that office. I’m going to miss his goofy smile, crazy antics, and overall positive energy he brought everywhere with him. He was the one positive interaction I could rely on everyday on campus because he was always everywhere keeping busy and spreading his positive vibes. I saw him about 3 months ago when I was visiting the campus. if I knew that I wouldn’t see him or that smile again I would’ve hugged him back harder. 💔 going to miss you dude. 💔

Abel was such a kind soul and I am forever grateful to call him my friend. He was always down to do anything and always put others first. He will forever live in our hearts ❤️‍🩹🕊️

Abel was a person that saw me as his little brother 
Met him during AIMM, and then as my first semester went got close more and more, Abel was easily the most down to earth and humble individual I ever met, a very unique personality but a men that could impact all of are lives, we always alway match energy and to story that we both have, I am beyond grateful to call him my tutor, but my brother because since he opens his arms to me 
It was only right that I do it back, never told him much i appreciate him but he was very much aware of the time that we too cherish it all

Words cannot express how I feel. The pain I feel is unthinkable. It is still hard to think that you are gone from us. However, I know you would want me and everyone to keep moving forward. You were the first person I met at A&M SA from the valley and it gave me a safe space. I remember you saying “hey puro 956.” We had that bond. Two valley young men making a difference for everyone. You always made me laugh. And brought joy to my day no matter what kind of day I was having. mi amigo, I will always have you in my heart! And keep going because I know that’s what you would want me to do. May you rest in peace my friend and until we meet again.
