Stella O. Valadez was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She left this world peacefully on February 1, 2023 at the age of 86. She was born to Rosendo and Antonia Valadez on September 18, 1936 in San Angelo, TX where she resided until she moved to Ballinger in 2004. Stella loved spending time in the kitchen cooking for all her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed weekend camping trips as well as her Spanish soap operas. Spending quality time with family and friends was also very important to Stella. Stella is preceded in death by her youngest son, Rudy V. Castillo, daughter-in-law, Norma Castillo, brother, Arthur Ray Valadez and her parents, Rosendo and Antonia Valadez. She is survived by her children, daughter Julia Castillo of San Angelo, TX, son Joey Castillo and wife Anne of Western Australia, son Adam Castillo of San Angelo, TX, son David Castillo and wife Martha of San Angelo, TX, daughter Elizabeth Jenkins and husband Stephen of Ballinger, TX, and Brenda Cardona of San Antonio, TX who remained a devoted daughter-in-law the past 31 years. She is also survived by 16 grandkids as well as 4 bonus grandkids, 27 great grandkids, 2 brothers, Albert Valadez and Rosendo Valadez, both of San Angelo, TX, along with nieces and nephews. A rosary will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Johnson’s Funeral home in San Angelo, TX. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow in Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Stella’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers; Sergio Castillo, Jonathon Castillo, Jomikel Leal, Cody Jenkins, Nathan Jenkins, Gabriel Castillo, Cole Castillo, Brian Castillo, Quinlynn Castillo and Rosendo Ortega. The family wishes to send a special thank you to Dorothy Smith with Girling Home Health who assisted Stella as a home health aide. Also a special thank you to all at Ballinger Home Health and Hospice for the tender love and care. Stella was a loving person with a huge heart who loved and cared for everyone.
