Maria Urista Roberts, age 65, of San Angelo, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 15, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 5, 1958 in San Angelo, Texas to Francisco and Maria Urista. Maria attended Central High School and graduated in the class of 1977. She later became an orthodontist assistant working for Knight and Noble Orthodontics.
Maria enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved dearly. Her pastimes included reading, travelling and playing with her dog, Bruno. Maria was also a proud member of Beta Sigma Phi Chapter XI Alpha Nu and loved all her wonderful sorority sisters, especially her best friend, Susan Owens.
Maria is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Urista; her sister, Cecilia Urista Sullivan; and her brothers, Frank C. Urista, Jr. and Mirco Jose Urista.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Harlow and husband Colin; her grandchildren, Samuel Vasquez III(USAF) of Las Vegas, NV, Allen David Vasquez of San Angelo, TX, and Marcus Alexander Vasquez; her great grandchildren, Jordan Xavier Vasquez, Jace Ryan Vasquez, and Jaxon Noah Vasquez; her brother, Fernando Urista and wife Rosa of San Angelo; brother, Adrian Urista of San Antonio and sister, Clementine Urista of San Angelo. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Richard Paul Rivas II, Garrett McGrew, Maria S. Ratliff and husband Steve, Sonya S. Spade and husband Larry, Billy Ray Sullivan, Joshua Urista, Jordan Ratliff, Shawn Urista and wife Aimee, and Lauren Ratliff; and her dear comadre, Ruby Harlow.
The family would like to thank Hospice of San Angelo, Laura Charlton, Jessica, Senior Companion Program, Becky Hernandez and also a special thanks to her grandson, Marcus Vasquez, all for their loving care shown to Maria.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Maria's name to West Texas Rehab, Hospice of San Angelo, or The American Cancer Society.
A visitation for Maria will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Johnson's Funeral Home. A graveside service will occur Friday, December 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, 4989 FM 1223, San Angelo, Texas.
