Jon Patrick Whan

Jon was born in Wichita Falls, TX on October 6th, 1965. Jon graduated from Wichita Falls High School, then received an engineering degree from Texas Tech.

Jon married his beloved wife DeDe on February 20th, 2010.

Jon had a career at NRCS and was an active member of the ASABE, as well as the Elks Lodge #1880 in San Angelo. He was passionate about Elk charities and was a member of the Belmore Baptist Church in San Angelo.

Jon is survived by his loving wife of nine years, DeDe Whan, his parents Don and Carolynn Whan (of Wichita Falls), his sister Jennifer Wolfe (of Colorado), his niece Amanda Anderson, and his nephew Jeremy Wolfe. He is survived by his two sons, Allen Sutton and wife Raelea (of Grapevine, TX), Aaron Sutton and wife Erin, plus their daughter Paisley Jo (of Edinburg, TX). He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and loving friends. Jon was loved by many and will be missed by all.

A memorial service was held at Belmore Baptist Church on October 24th, 2019, with Dr. Toby Irwin and Brother Neil Conner officiating. Donations in memory of Jon are to be sent to the Elks Foundation Scholarship Fund; Elks Lodge #1880, located at 2121 Chadbourne St, San Angelo, TX 76903.
