Irene Herrera Luna

She was born on October 1, 1955 in Clarksville, Texas to Hilario and Seferina Herrera. Irene Luna met her soulmate and the love of her life, Melecio Luna in 1968 and they were married on October 22 1969. Irene Luna was a proud mother of six children, her passions were sewing, dancing, taking care of her 2 ½ acres and taking her mother Seferina on weekly shopping trips. Irene also enjoyed taking road trips with her mom and two sisters Norma and Esmeralda and will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, and warm caring heart. Her favorite memories were of her family wrapped around her, especially spending time with grandkids.

Irene is preceded in death by her father Hilario Herrera Sr., her older brother Phillip Herrera and her husband Melecio Luna Sr.

Irene is survived by her Mother Seferina Herrera as well as her brothers Hilario, Danny, George, Joel and Albert Herrera and sisters Norma Martinez and Esmeralda Mascorro. Daughter Julie and Armando Dominguez, son Melecio Luna Jr and wife Laura; Melisa Perez and husband Jaime Sr; daughter Patricia Phongsavanhthong and husband Oupekha; daughter Michelle Luna and son Jason Luna and wife Bertha. She is also survived by her grandchildren Joshua, Jacob and Jonathon Dominguez; Briana and Dustin Nguyen, Blayke and Braden Luna; Vaan, Paisley, Jaimie Jr. and Mikala Perez; Kaiya and Sayda Phongsavanhthong; Evan Ybarra and Ayden Gomez; Anthone and Markus Luna. Great grandchildren Myla Lee, Kamyrn and Kayori Nguyen.

Visitation will be at 6 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm Tuesday April 26 2022 at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 am Wednesday April 27 2022 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
