Frank passed peacefully from this life into the loving arms of our Lord, on Sunday, December 11, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
Frank was born on February 11, 1934, in Mason, Texas to Ignacio Sanchez & Socorro Martinez.
Frank attended Mason Independent School District, and later went on to obtain his GED through the United States Air Force, while stationed in Texas, and Kansas. He would go on to have a Military career with the United States Air Force as an INSTLRON (SAC) Fireman, serving his country during the Korean War, and very proud of being a Korean War Veteran.
Frank married Maria T. Maldonado on August 3, 1955. They had 5 children.
Frank was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-great-grandfather and a respected Christian man. Frank was a faithful man who loved the Lord, his family, his church, and his community.
Frank loved to dance to Tejano and Country music. Frank especially enjoyed fishing, golfing, and watching the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and Houston Astros. And enjoyed being at all types of sports events, dance recitals, football games, baseball games, and soccer games, with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Frank would say “I love the quality time I spend with all my kiddos more than anything else.” Frank’s children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren were the loves of his life.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Ignacio Sanchez, and Socorro Martinez; son, Armando Sanchez; daughter, Dora Sanchez; brother, Gilberto Avalos; and sisters, Amelia Torres, Estella Castillo, Rita Garza, and Maré Dominguez.
Left to cherish Frank’s memory are his wife, Maria T. Sanchez; children, Teresa “Terri" Sanchez Garza and husband Marion, Edward Sanchez and wife Elvia, and Danny Sanchez; grandchildren, Mark Santiago, Eric Santiago, Joey Santiago, Christopher Sanchez, Gavon Sanchez, Devin Benavides, Danny Sanchez, Jr., Gabrielle Sanchez, Danielle Sanchez-Glenn, Brianna Sanchez, Angela Cajas, Adrianna Olvera, Andrew Godines, Serena Cajas, Jacob Cajas, and Ronnie Cajas III; great-grandchildren, Cooper Santiago, Christian Santiago, Faith Rose Santiago, Mia Blu Sanchez, Helena Sanchez, Mia Sanchez, Kolton Sanchez, Evie Woodward, Micha Benavides, Sofie Olvera, Dashell Olvera, Andrew Godines, Alexie Godines, and Roman Godines; and great-great-grandchildren, Josiah Ray "His Bebe" Alvarado and Ezra Ray "His RayRay" Alvarado.
Also left to cherish his memory is his brother, Joe Avalos Sr., and several nieces and nephews, whom Frank loved dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 PM on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Johnson’s Funeral Home, 435 W Beauregard Ave, San Angelo, Texas 76903.
