Felix C. Valles Jr. passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024 in San Angelo, TX. Felix was born September 25, 1942 in Sanderson, TX. He graduated from Sanderson High School in 1961 where he was recognized and excelled in football and track. Following high school graduation, he attended Sul Ross State University where he completed a Bachelor of Science degree while running track on a full ride scholarship. To further his education, Felix went on to receive a master’s degree in education at the University of Texas at El Paso. After receiving qualifications to become a teacher, Felix taught high school science classes while coaching track and football at Socorro High School and Fabens High School. He later taught students in Ganado, Arizona before eventually completing his teaching career at Odessa High School. In Felix’s free time, he continued his passion for sports by refereeing high school football and basketball games. Felix was preceded in death by his parents Felix and Juanita Valles; sister, Mary Valdez; and brother Gilbert Valles. He is survived by brothers, David Valles (Christina) and Roland Valles (Dan); son, Eric Valles; and daughters, Lillian Valles, and Michelle Valles. He is also survived by three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family of Felix Valles expresses special thanks and gratitude towards the staff at Meadow Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation. A rosary will be held at 10 am with mass to being at 11 am on January 20, 2024 at St. James Catholic Church located in Sanderson, Texas with interment to follow at Santa Rita Cemetery in Sanderson, Texas.
