Don W. Daniel peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 30th, at his home in San Angelo, TX. Funeral service will be held at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 2, 2012. Arrangements are by Johnson’s Funeral Home.
Don was born on April 3, 1932 in Lampasas, Texas to Gordon and Orlena Daniel. He graduated from Bronte High School and then attended Texas Tech University. In 1955 he joined the United States Army and served until a family medical emergency led to an Honorable Discharge in 1961. Don then went to work at GTE where he met his wife of 52 years, Wanda Joy Baker. He worked for GTE for 39 years before retiring in 2000.
Don is preceded in death by his wife Wanda Joy Daniel and daughter Tavia Renee Daniel. He is survived by his son Jay Daniel and his wife Melayne, daughter Le Ann Cooper and her husband George, and grandchildren Zachary Daniel, Burgandee Cooper, and Mackenzee Cooper all of San Angelo.
Don was a deacon of the Baptist Church for over 50 years. He enjoyed many hours in his shop creating flower arrangements for any and every occasion and spending as much time as possible with his family.
