Daniel John Michalik went to be with our Lord on Thursday, October 13, 2011. He was born on August 9, 1931 in Holland, Texas to Anton and Emilie (Jansa) Michalik. He was the youngest son of nine children.
Dan joined the Air Force where he served as a Chaplin’s assistant. His service took him to the Azores. Later, he worked at Goodfellow Field in various roles.
Dan was faithful to our Lord and served as a choir leader and Sunday school teacher at the Wall Brethren Church. At home in San Angelo, he took pride in his yard and gardens, spending many hours outdoors. He also loved polka dancing.
While Dan had no children, he considered all his nephews and nieces as his own, loving each one of them. Dan is preceded in death by sisters Angeline Simcik, Libbie Kutter, and brothers Edmond and Ruben. He is survived by sisters Georgia Simcik, Esther Chasak, Noemi Drgac, and brother Albert. He is also survived by 14 nieces, 9 nephews and many great nephews and nieces.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Tommy Tallas officiating.
