Marvin Byron Bruce passed from this world on January 23rd surrounded by his loving family. The memorial service will be at 10:00 am at the Johnson’s Funeral Home in San Angelo. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Friday January 25th.
He was born June 15th, 1939 in Loraine, Texas to Reta Pearl and Worth Ralston Bruce. He grew up in Loraine and was a graduate of Loraine High School. He was a proud member of the high school marching band and the basketball team. He was a member of the St. Luke's Methodist Church in San Angelo.
He is survived by his wife, Molly Phillips Bruce, daughter, Jana and son-in-law, Scott Edmonds, and son, Brad Bruce. Jana and Brad were his pride and joy. Also survived by grandchildren, Carson and Madison Edmonds, whom he adored. Nothing made him happier than being with them and attending their activities. He traveled many miles to all their games, rodeos, etc.
His family called him Byron, Dad, and Pepaw, but his friends referred to him as Bruce or his favorite nickname “Trouble” because he loved to joke and tease.
Other family members include nephews, Leslie and Greg Bruce of Midland; great niece, Megan Copeland and great nephews, Ryan and Dillon Bruce; long-time family friend, Kendall Williams; Debbie and Tommy Earnest of San Angelo, as well as many other special cousins, family members, and friends. Byron was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Ralston and Ronald Bruce.
